I
taught basic design, architectural design, graduate design and design
competition studios while teaching at one of the best universities for
the study of architecture and was the mentor for over 150 National and
International Student Design Competition winners. In December of 1999, I
left architectural education and moved to Provence in southern France to
concentrate on my painting. |

I
did not paint in any serious way between 1985-67 as I concentrated on
the art of architecture. After traveling through Europe for 3 months in
1985, I reevaluated my priorities in life and began to refocus my
energies towards pure art, painting. There were several false starts
before I took my fist steps on my ongoing painting journey.

The greatest influence on my work was Dale McKinney, painter and kinetic
sculptor who took me under his wing and shared his knowledge and love of
art. I took a studio art class every semester while pursuing my degrees
in architecture. Unfortunately, none of the courses were on the business
of art.
